Improving Social Anxiety: Begin With Acceptance

There are several ways to improve the social anxiety, but as a coach for personal development and a former patient of social anxiety, I learned that one of the easiest and most productive in order to increase the feeling of well being in social situations, the art is self-acceptance of the practice.
A common scenario that I hear from coaching clients is: they desperately want to feel better about themselves in social situations, but the fact that they feel comfortable in social situations, they will present to judge yourself too harshly.
This results in a “Catch 22″ situation because no good you feel now about the – like you – you do not know, it’s much harder to feel good about yourself if you d with other people. The failure of self-acceptance, it is easy to fall into a vicious circle of anxiety and self-criticism, which can complicate social interaction.
But the road to this “loop station” to decide once and for all to accept today – now – to love and appreciate the way you are. This means that if you should feel uncomfortable in a social situation, you must understand that it is acceptable, and refuse to you hard, because to judge it.
When I adopted this “first explain” strategy with the customer to deal with social anxiety will say some of them, “but only if I accept my social anxiety, do not want it worse?” The simple answer is “no.” What makes the problems of social anxiety is worse, not accept. In my experience, you can not get how these problems by disgusted with themselves because they address the problem at first.
The improvement of social anxiety requires self-acceptance. Too often we have to examine these questions in reverse order. For example, a customer told me: “Well, then I begin to accept myself as I do not have social anxiety.” The problem with this thinking is not to first accept yourself you will never get to the point where you feel comfortable in social situations.
So, start improving the social anxiety that you are what I call “doing the cart before the horse.” This means that you must decide to accept your strengths, weaknesses – about you and practice self-acceptance a daily basis.
Do not think the mistake that they would feel better about yourself once a social anxiety goes away. That is to think backwards. Feel better now, and you will see an almost immediate improvement in your social anxiety.
Now comes the hard part for some people: you can judge very strong habit to have established themselves and to avoid undue recognition. I will not deceive ourselves: If you thought so, that have for many years, you certainly put in place very strong at this self-destructive habits, thoughts, and they will probably not just disappear overnight.
But here’s the good news, you can begin to accept themselves today. Maybe not 100%, but much more than you have in the past. Make an effort is important – every little bit counts! So, if you try to start accepting yourself as you are now and have to fight, do not be discouraged. Practice through the motions of self-acceptance, if you – even if you do not really “feel” have it in depth.
If you are on a daily basis, there will certainly be on your self-esteem, and improve your social anxiety. Consistency is the key. I recommend that clients take a break “little” twice a day to practice self-acceptance. And remember, it’s easy to accept our strengths and successes, is the true test of the assumption, if we accept our shortcomings and weaknesses.
The improvement of social anxiety begin to accept all aspects of our selves, including those where we still have much work, too.
