Has anyone switched from Xanax to Klonopin? I have major panic attacks and my new doctor wants to try this?
My original doctor passed away and i am seeing his replacement and he tells me how awful xanax is to your body. I have been on Xanax for over 4 years and i am worried about having panic attacks or serious withdrawal. Does Klonopin work almost the same? I know it is longer acting and hopefully it will work and i can eventually get off of all medication. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I never took xanax because my doctor said he didn’t think it was a good medicine so i take Klonopin and it’s a great medicine but it makes me very sleepy. I think it should have about the same effect though.
I very successfully switched several years ago,…..it was the best thing my doctor did for me. Try it, and be surprised at how well you will do.
Personally, my closest friend switched from xanax to klonipin.
The half-life of klonipin is longer than that of xanax, so that is why it is longer acting.
If he gives you an equivalent dose, there shouldn’t be a problem. As long as you have the medication in your system you won’t experience withdrawal.
