A panic attack is a sudden, intense fear or anxiety that may make you short of breath or dizzy or make your heart pound. You may feel out of control. Some people believe they are having a heart attack or are about to die. An attack may last from 5 to 20 minutes. You have the most anxiety about 10 minutes after the attack starts. If these attacks happen often, they are called a panic disorder
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of a panic attack may include:
A feeling of intense fear, terror, or anxiety.
Trouble breathing or very fast breathing.
Chest pain or tightness.
A heartbeat that races or is not regular.
Sweating.
Nausea or an upset stomach.
Dizziness and shaking.
Numbness or tingling.
Low Blood Sugar
Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar. It occurs when the level of sugar, or glucose, in the blood drops too low to give the body energy.
What are the symptoms?
The symptoms can vary depending on how low the blood sugar level drops.
Mild hypoglycemia can cause nausea, a jittery or nervous feeling, cold and clammy skin, sweating, hunger, and a rapid heartbeat.
Moderate hypoglycemia often makes you feel irritable, anxious, or confused. You may have blurred vision, feel unsteady, and have difficulty walking.
Severe hypoglycemia can lead to loss of consciousness, seizures, and coma-and it may be fatal
Well, whether it is a panic attack or low blood sugar, you should try a candy. Make sure you have a candy with sugar in it not the fake stuff. I have little low blood sugar attacks and I stick a candy under my tongue. My low blood sugar feelings are suddenly feeling a little ill, sometimes a little dizzy and shaky inside. Don’t remember what ever made me think to take sugar the first time I tried it, just an instinctual feeling I guess. It works for me though.
I’ve had both too. For me, when my blood sugar is low, I get very lightheaded and almost dizzy, I feel weak and very irritable and spacey. When I have a panic attack my heart races and I feel a little dizzy and sometimes I breakout in a sweat. Of course the low blood sugar feeling goes away when I eat something. Panic attacks usually only go away when I calm down — eating something doesn’t help at all. I’ve heard that panic attacks are when our emotional cup is overflowing and the emotions come out as anxiety. That’s always helped me. The only time I have low blood sugar problems is when I eat sugar. As log as I avoid it I seem to be okay.
I know what a panic attack feels like….
It can some of these or all of these…
Rapid heart beat (can’t slow it down/pulpitations)
Rabid breathing (Can’t catch breath/think your suffocating)
Feel light headed (Dizzy/confused/feels like your weak or going to pass out/feels like your going to die.)
Tight feeling in chest/bloated deeling in stomach.
Chills/cold sweats/or too hot.
Makes you feel seperated from your body/like you can’t control it to good/again…weakness.
Shaking/stiffening in muscles/clenching fists
Numbness in face/hands/nose/feet.
I’ve had it all…but I don’t know what low blood sugar feels like.
