My Social Anxiety (part 1)
This is my introduction video to my Social Anxiety vlog. I have had Social Anxiety my whole life. Anxiety runs in my family so most of my anxiety is biological. I watched a few other youtube vlogs of people with Social Anxiety and it inspired me to make my own. My Anxiety was about 3/10 when making this video. The symptoms of my panic attacks include: dry mouth, blushing, shaky hands/legs, rapid heart beat, rapid swallowing, eye watering, butterflies in stomach, sweating. Of course when all this is going on it makes it difficult to carry on a conversation, or even make eye contact. It’s a very panicky feeling and I instinctively search for a way to get out of the situation. At the time of making this video, I had just failed out my first semester as a sophomore in college. The anxiety got too high for me to handle. This is when I decided I needed to start a recovery plan. I found a therapist to talk to, but I had a lot of difficulty speaking because of the high levels of anxiety I had during the appointments. So youtube was a way I could express myself better and still face my anxiety at the same time.

What to Do When you Feel a Panic Attack Coming Part 2: the Shields
Benzodiazepines (eg Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium): These are usually the most powerful of all coping strategies immediately. This usually takes about 20 minutes to connect benzodiazepines, and they are strong enough to stop and even Full Blown Panic Attack. The main disadvantages of these medicines is that if you take too much, you can make them tired, and if you need to take every day, you can get used to it after 1-3 months (ie, they might stop function). In addition, people with a history of drug problems these drugs can be addictive (though they usually produce a relatively low bit high, so it is extremely rare that a failure to these drugs) become addicted. I prescribe benzodiazepines for patients as they begin to learn coping strategies and demands. I usually recommend the use of benzodiazepines in emergency situations to stop panic attacks, and sometimes I even recommend that benzodiazepines regularly every day for people who are in a chronic state of panic / anxiety level. Although not a cure for panic disorder to benzodiazepines, they can help you as you entered into a definitive treatment (eg cognitive behavioral therapy) in order to win you have total control of panic.
Let the situation is one of the strongest technical adjustment, but can also potentially lead to problems. End of the crowd, firing over the side of the road while driving or to avoid strenuous exercise, are examples of the situation. These are effective techniques to adapt, because they often have a panic attack can be avoided. However, these techniques have the obvious disadvantage (the promotion of agoraphobia, that is, prevention because of fear) before the panic. I would say that leaving a situation is useful, but only if you help win entry into a definitive treatment for control of panic disorder.
Relaxation techniques: It is difficult to stop, something about “cold turkey.” It is easier to stop, about something, when you replace your mind with something else. Relaxation techniques and meditation they try to convince you to stop thinking by replacing an effective distraction to your mind. For example, many forms of Buddhist meditation, you change your thinking by focusing on repeated sounds and / or breathing. In addition to the presentation of the different exercises you replace your thoughts with vivid images. The relaxation techniques that I found particularly effective for panic attacks are 11-muscle relaxation by abdominal breathing, feeling of breathing include the development and approval, all cognitive behavioral techniques. I teach patients not a single adaptation technique, because different techniques to other people seem to be. Relaxation techniques initially may not be strong enough to stop a panic attack, but they are much more effective once you have started this exhibition.
Thought Restructuring: This ability to adapt, you learn how to stop your anxiety by talking again. The idea of restructuring is a type of logging done on the paper for 10 minutes daily for 1-2 weeks. After 1-2 weeks, I have to speak often encourage my patients to stop again in her thoughts on paper and begin to do in their heads. Like relaxation techniques, it is a technique of cognitive behavioral therapy, it is even better with practice, and it is much more effective if the claims that you started.
Thoughts restructuring and relaxation techniques eventually form the two parties most sustainable and healthy for your “sign” because they can be widely disseminated, without any inconvenience to avoid situations or rely on medicines to be used. Such a “shield” techniques not usually strong enough to win but the complete control of the panic disorder, most patients should be the issue.

Understanding Anxiety Attacks as a Part of Life
Understanding anxiety attacks as a part of life
Almost everyone suffers from a panic attack at some point in life. Whether it is a fear of failure in an important task or a concern that the animal or some other force that will affect the mind and body are in sync to the actual physical symptoms and occur sooner. For some people, but it is normal and persistent fear paralyzes and the actual full-fledged anxiety attacks become almost a lifestyle.
Understand that panic attacks are, how they present and what can be done about it for a person can suffer from anxiety disorders to help you understand better what a friend of a loved one who in transit. It can also seek help to waylay the person who attacks the awareness of the need for an effective treatment for life suffers from anxiety.
Anxiety attacks are very similar to the / mental physical reactions that occur in the fight or flight phenomena. The mind takes a threat and the body reacts. The difference between an attack “normal” and abnormal situation generally requires the threat. In the case of anxiety disorders, the “danger” can be quite common, but not always. What happens here is that the threat will be perceived if it does not really exist, or the reaction in proportion to the situation. For example, a person who has an extreme fear of public speaking to is not really in danger, but his mind could think, therefore, the body responds.
In most cases, the anxiety attacks are very intense, starting a fast. They are generally characterized by the following symptoms:
• Intense feelings of fear and danger
• Chest pain, palpitations, sweating, tremors and other physical symptoms
• A sense of depersonalization or a surreal atmosphere
• A strong sense of doom and fear of death
• breathlessness
• Hot flashes or chills
Unhappiness about anxiety attacks is that their symptoms are often the presence of other serious health problems. This can lead to false diagnoses and even fuel fears that the imminent death immediately. When properly diagnosed anxiety, people are generally a combination of drugs and therapies are being treated to regain control of their lives.
Anxiety can have a one-hour presentation, or they may occur on a repetitive basis. In the latter case, the treatment is almost always recommended that the recovery is usually the sign of a serious concern.

Panic Attacks as a vital part of human evolution
Evolution is the theory of natural selection. It is often called the survival of the fittest, but in reality it is the survival of the best adapted to their environment. On the great plains of Africa, for example, giraffes developed long necks of the first selection of succulent leaves that are up high away from the other animals. Evolution occurs because in each case, there are some differences over time and variations which are most suitable for the environment, are more likely to survive to the point where their genes can be transferred next generation. If we return to our example, then in a family with two children, giraffes have long necks a little different. When we say that would have been the giraffe, whose neck is smaller than a 80% chance of survival to the point where they can have their own children, and then the giraffe’s neck a little longer owned 81% chance because of his slight advantage in the achievement of food in its environment. Then the children will have that giraffe neck lengths that a natural variation in the genes that need to be transferred. Over millions of years, this means that the neck of the giraffe would be longer than the species. If the environment were to change then it would be during the course of evolution of the giraffe.
Just as people have done in that time? Early humans were hunters and gatherers carnivores. The problem is that much of what we were eating fish very dangerous. We had a difficult environment to survive, in what we wanted, as we drove to the hunted. There are several possibilities that we have developed to adapt to these challenges. Some animals have their own defense as developed spines, claws or sharp teeth. What we are instead social beings. We have hunted in packs and are developing ever more complex forms of communication and tools that allow us to beat our opponents. Since the first creatures to reach this point of evolution, we were able to dominate the planet with their own form of technology and organization. This explains how we have managed to become a hunter, but now, as we avoid hunted, too.
For this we had attacked a place that needed a super-fast response to a perceived threat, which has enabled us to avoid the danger. This is called fight or flight or, for us, a panic attack. The natural variation has meant that some people with a better fight or flight are born than others. Those who do not panic very quickly just so happy to the point of transfer genes to survive. Therefore often panic disorder in the family and why physicians believe that fear is largely hereditary important.
Over time, the panic reaction is faster, more efficient and better adapted to our environment with all its dangers. Would be in the immediate presence of a perceived threat to start the body in his panic by clicking on heart rate so that the body itself as taking direct action, high energy, which the mind so that the individual is fully aware of this danger and would take decisive action and to break all non-emergency bodily functions such as food processing, so that the body is entirely devoted to the task of avoiding the danger. This also explains why people feel sick during a panic attack. At the same time the body has entered a shop of hormones, including adrenaline, what we adrenalin. An important point to determine at this stage is that this process can not continue for an extended period and then all panic attacks must end sooner or later.
People can inherit their predecessors thanks to this function, they continue to danger. Of course, natural variations still exist today. There are giraffes with necks the most diverse and there are also people with different responses to the panic function. Some people with panic attacks not as they do not, and can lead to problems for them in their lives if they never meet a potential threat. If you go into the jungle and come face to face with a hungry lion’s face, it does not matter how much you want to get away from the lions, because if it is your answer, do not panic at the height of your body can not able to the situation without escape in this mode.
In the whole range of natural variation, it’s you and me. Our panic attacks are too frequent and too intense for what is required. Would be in a time when we are developing these skills as a kind we would have been the strongest, have favored the development, but now they are not adapted to our environment. Therefore, we say that we suffer from panic attacks, and we want to “get rid of” or “strike”, but that’s what we really want? A panic disorder is something as a faulty smoke detector. It is there for a very good reason to protect you from harm, but it is now activated when there is no danger. What should we do? We rarely have to say, we must break the smoke detector or completely get rid of, because we still go home when the fire took, or are we only the toast should be burned. The purpose of this book is not ever give your body a chance to avoid that situation. It is rather to improve the functioning of your panic response, so the only time that you do not find that you appreciate that you do in this situation.
